I build websites and blogs using WordPress. Authors love WordPress because it’s as easy to use as email. Managers love WordPress because of its low cost. And search engines love WordPress because it’s optimized for search out of the box.
I’ve been building and managing websites since 1996 and I’ve seen a lot of different content management systems, but none come close to WordPress for consistently easy and enjoyable content management.
I experienced the evolution of Dreamweaver and it’s user-friendly add-on, Contributor. I’ve managed big content management systems like Documentum, Teamsite and Vignette, and don’t get me started on FatWire.
Remember that stuff called HTML? It used to be that content folks had to know HTML, or had to have a coder at the ready to post their content. Believe it or not, those days are not too far gone, and sadly there are people still living in that world, even today.
Today I use and recommend WordPress for most content projects simply because it’s easy to use, it’s an industry standard, and there are WordPress experts in every corner of the world.
